Killifish of the Callopanchax genus are those found in the western part of Africa. Callopanchax are well suited well suited for someone trying their first killifish and can be water incubated, but still do best if allowed to spend some time in very moist peat before being put into a hatching tray. Most species in the Call. genus are plant spawners, but the eggs should be stored in peat moss during a diapause period for a few weels and then hatched by adding the peat and eggs to a small container of water. However, it seems most of the Callopanchax species do well if the eggs are allowed to slowly develop in very moist peat moss for 30-45 days before adding more water for hatching Killifish Books: |
