Native Habitat:  Central Africa: Gabon and Congo. Occurs in brooks and small streams in the rainforest and forested savanna of the inland plain
Temperament:    Generally peaceful, but males are a little aggressive, certainly when breeding with females. Therefore best kept in trios, rather than pairs.
Feeding:    Some flake foods high in protein and adult brine shrimp, along with live foods such as grindal worms, white worms, Daphnia, Moina, and newly hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing:    Males more colorful and with display fins
Comments:    Easy for beginners. Lifespan is 4 years. Non-annual plant spawner
