Native Habitat:  Central Africa: Congo, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon. Occurs in swamps, swampy parts of shallow brooks and small streams under dark forest cover on the inland plains rainforest
Temperament:    Males are a little aggressive, certainly when breeding with females. Therefore best kept in trios, rather than pairs.
Feeding:    Some flake foods high in protein and adult brine shrimp, along with live foods such as grindal worms, white worms, Daphnia, Moina, and newly hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing:    Males more colorful and with display fins
Comments:    Difficult for beginners. Live about 3 years. Non-annual plant spawner
